About

Darminsky Corporation

We are a software consulting studio and venture lab in Ontario, at the intersection of engineering, software, and sustainability. We believe the best products come from teams that think clearly, ship consistently, and care about long-term outcomes rather than short-term noise.

The studio half works with external teams: scoping projects, building prototypes, and shipping production software across web, mobile, IoT, and operational systems. We take on a small number of engagements at a time so every client gets our full attention.

The venture-lab half builds our own products — ideas we're willing to own from first commit to public launch. Each venture starts as a real problem we want solved, runs on our own infrastructure and budget, and eventually becomes an independent product or a lesson that sharpens the next attempt.

Our work is grounded in what we call longevity engineering: building software that is honest about its complexity, designed to be maintained by whoever comes next, and sized to fit the real problem rather than a hypothetical future one.

How we work

  • Clarity over complexity. We prefer simple solutions that are easy to maintain over clever ones that are hard to explain.
  • Ship and learn. Small, fast cycles beat long, ambitious ones. We favour working software over extensive planning documents.
  • Longevity engineering. Systems should be maintainable, transferable, and honest about their complexity. We design for a 5–10 year lifecycle, not the next demo.
  • Ownership. We write documentation, tests, and runbooks so that whatever we build can be owned by whoever needs to maintain it.
