How to work with us
Most engagements start with a short conversation. Here are the three ways we work together.
Discovery Sprint
Teams with a real operational problem but unclear scope or approach — before committing to a build.
A short, structured engagement to understand what is actually true about the system, identify the highest-leverage opportunities, and deliver a clear recommendation. The output is a basis for a confident build decision, not a slide deck.
Includes
- Two working sessions (25-min fit call + 60-min artifact review)
- Current-state workflow map with annotated failure points
- Prioritized thin-slice build plan
- Phase 1 estimate range with stated assumptions
- Open questions list the client needs to resolve before build
Not included: Implementation. The Discovery Sprint is scoping and diagnosis only.
What happens next: The fee is credited toward Build & Ship if you proceed within 30 days. You can also take the findings in-house or use them to evaluate other options.
Build & Ship
Teams ready to build — a new product, a workflow system, an internal tool, or a meaningful improvement to an existing system.
A scoped delivery engagement. We agree on scope before starting, work in short cycles with regular check-ins and async demos, and hand off with documentation and a runbook. Every engagement closes with a handoff package designed to keep the client self-sufficient.
Includes
- Scoping session and acceptance criteria agreement
- Short delivery cycles with weekly written updates
- Async demo walkthrough at each milestone
- Full documentation and deployment runbook
- Final handoff session and project handoff package
Not included: Open-ended scope expansion. Any scope changes are discussed, documented, and priced as separate batches — not absorbed silently.
What happens next: After handoff, you own the codebase and infrastructure. Ongoing support is available as a separate Support & Iteration engagement.
Support & Iteration
Teams with an existing system that needs ongoing engineering attention — without hiring a full-time engineer.
A reserved block of engineering time each month. Good for maintaining and improving what was already built, responding to new requirements, dependency and security updates, and having a technical partner available when questions or issues arise.
Includes
- Reserved monthly engineering hours
- Bug fixes, dependency updates, and minor feature work
- Technical oversight and code review on client-side changes
- Regular written updates on work completed
- Priority response for urgent issues during agreed hours
Not included: Greenfield builds and large new feature sets. Those are scoped and handled as Build & Ship engagements.
What happens next: Engagements are month-to-month with a short notice period. We review scope and fit quarterly.
